Diane Landry vit et travaille à Québec. Elle fait d’abord des études en technique des sciences naturelles et travaille dans un centre de recherche en agriculture pendant 5 ans. À l’âge de 25 ans, elle prend la décision de devenir artiste en assumant son rêve devenu nécessité. Elle retourne aux études et obtient un baccalauréat en arts visuels de l’Université Laval (1987) et une maîtrise en arts plastiques de la Stanford University (2006), en Californie. Elle se croyait peintre, mais par la pratique en atelier et la réalité quotidienne, elle se dirige naturellement vers la production d’œuvres installatives et performatives influencées par le readymade et ses préoccupations pour le recyclage. Bref, elle bricole, elle patente. Elle aime se mettre dans des contextes qui viennent ébranler ses habitudes de création, en réalisant des résidences d’artiste à travers diverses cultures. Ces séjours bousculent ses réflexes de création et l’amènent vers des défis constamment renouvelés. Ses œuvres ont fait l’objet d’une large diffusion au Canada, aux États-Unis, en Amérique latine, dans plusieurs pays d’Europe, en Chine et en Australie. En 2014, elle obtient la bourse de carrière Jean-Paul-Riopelle, offerte par le Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. Elle reçoit l’une des prestigieuses bourses de la John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation à New York en 2015. Elle réalise de nombreuses commandes de projets artistiques et ses œuvres font partie de plusieurs collections. Landry est représentée par Vivianeart Gallery (Calgary) et Carl Solway Gallery (Cincinnati, Ohio).

Diane Landry lives and works in Quebec City. She first studied natural science technology and worked in an agricultural research center for 5 years. At the age of 25, she decided to become an artist, assuming her dream as a necessity. She went back to school and obtained a BFA from Université Laval (1987) and an MFA from Stanford University (2006) in California. She thought she was a painter, but through studio practice and everyday reality, she naturally moved towards the production of installation and performance works influenced by readymade and her preoccupation with recycling. In short, she tinkers, she patents. She likes to put herself in contexts that shake up her creative habits, by doing artist residencies across various cultures. These stays disrupt her creative reflexes and lead her to constantly renewed challenges. Her works have been widely shown in Canada, the United States, Latin America, several European countries, China and Australia. In 2014, she was awarded the Jean-Paul Riopelle career grant, offered by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. She received one of the prestigious John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation grants in New York, in 2015. She delivered numerous commissions for art projects and her work is included in several collections. Landry is represented by Vivianeart Gallery (Calgary) and Carl Solway Gallery (Cincinnati, Ohio).
