My animation-performance-video projects currently have great importance in my artistic explorations because they enable me to constantly push back the boundary between installation and performance. Since the beginning of my career I have strived to combine the temporal ideas found in performance with the spatial ideas of installation. The use of sequences in my installations, moreover, is directly related to this underlying intention. This is true of my mouvelle works, in which I work like an invisible orchestra conductor directing object-machines. Bringing depictions of human subjects into my photographs and videos is a part of this idea of creating works closer to the action.
