I have striven to mix the notions of performance and installation since the beginning of my artistic research: to make performance installations or installation performances. For that matter, the notion of time and the use of sequence for my installations are directly related to this underlying intention. Such is the case of new works, where I act as an invisible conductor guiding object-machines. The act of bringing human representation into my installations is part of this idea of creating works closer to the action. It must be said that capturing these portraits on film is very close to private performance. I take the pictures myself using an automatic trigger, and take many shots before looking at the results. These actions take place much like a performance without an audience, and it is the document recording that becomes the work.
